About this deal

We got caught in a traffic jam and he was desparate so with a bit of a cover over him which I kept there he managed quite easily to relieve himself. BoginaBag is a lightweight seat which can be easily converted to a portable toilet for use outdoors. Not much more than supermarket brand cheapy roll and they come in these lovely fancy wrapping, whats not to love!

These Bog in a Bag refills are described as “degradable bags”…we haven’t been able to find out what Bog in a Bag mean by that exactly, but degradable is VERY different from biodegradable. The custom bags fit neatly over the entire seat and drop down into the hole with an absorbent pad at the bottom, so hygiene isn't an issue. If you are cleaning after use you may choose to use a combination of bleach and water to take away some staining however we would advise you do not use bleach. Other items you might want to arm yourself with: extra loo paper, anti-bacterial toilet seat wipes, air freshener (you could make up an essential oil spray if you don’t like the ones on the market), disposable seat covers. I have used one of these for several years on canoe trips and it is still going strong despite being cardboard.

Innovate are long established and leading experts in helping individuals to discover whether their new product ideas and inventions have value and could lead to commercial success.Weighing in at just over 3lb this compact folding portable camping toilet might just be right for you.

Many camping toilet bags (and the Travel John bags) have a sort of crystal-filled ‘nappy’ inside to soak up liquid. A friend of mine was leading a group trip on Lough Erne and she was asked by one of the punters where the conveniences were. So, if we come across something that seems reasonable and will arrive before the camping season ends, we’ll have a look at it for you. Make your own pop-up private loo space with one of these toilet tents – or nip along to our article on tarps and see how easy it is to make a more versatile shelter. Not only is it better not to be washing formaldehyde into the sewage system, many campsites with septic tanks don’t allow these sorts of chemicals.

While people paddling by know what you are doing, they too have to revert to using the thing eventually and the common practice negates any embarrassment. The flexible structure of this Olpro utility tent make it easy to put up, but (like all pop-ups) is a bit prone to bending in a breeze.

It’s slightly larger than the smallest Thetford, however, so bear this in mind if you’re short on space. Having read star reviews on the Festival Kidz web site, I contacted the makers and they very kindly sent us one for our travels. Nappy sack with a cheap sanitary pad at the bottom works well and is a lot cheaper than the actual bags, this is from potty training not personal use I must add! Of course, it’s always better to try to use the facilities provided because, unless you’re carrying a portable composting loo, all other options aren’t environmentally ideal.Otherwise I think this is a great product that certainly beats hovering over one of those pits of Hades any day. It’s perfect for festival goers or camping enthusiasts who need somewhere to readily use the toilet. By night 2 I decided that while I wasn’t ready to moon my neighbours, at least the babes could try out the Bog in a Bag. We don't wild camp (or haven't yet) so we always use the facilities at camp sites and haven't bothered with a proper portable loo.
