Micro PC, Max Performance USB port confusion aside, this is a capable mini system that covers many of the typical roles these devices are used, but inexpensively. With its size and power, we found it ideal for conferencing rooms, but it could easily be used as a replacement desktop PC, media server, or firewall, to mention just a few. The form factor is that of a tablet, but Lenovo bundles a keyboard folio for laptop use, and the two make up for around 2 lbs combined. Spec-wise, everything is motorized by a Mediatek platform, paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space, which feels alright with daily use and proves to be highly efficient, squeezing 6-12 hours of battery life out of the 28 Wh battery inside. As microprocessors and semiconductor memory became less expensive, microcomputers grew cheaper and easier to use.

GMKtec has a reputation for making good quality small systems that won’t break the bank, and the NucBox M2 is a prime example of precisely that.It’s also best used with thumb typing rather than finger typing. It just feels more natural. Other Stuff A mini laptop is ideal for those who do a lot of travelling. For example a construction worker that needs to visit multiple locations in a day, or an IT Technician who needs to move between offices to keep vital hardware up and running. These small laptops for office work provide ease of carrying in a hand while working or even while travelling. They have an all day battery life to ensure your tasks are completed without having to recharge. When it comes to 10-inch tablet laptops, the Microsoft Surface Go is still my go-to recommendation in this class as one of the few 10-inch Windows devices with modern specs and features. You’ll still find the older Go 2 and Go 3 models in stores, as well as the newest Surface Go 4. They’re more or less the same in design and functionality, just slightly faster with the newer generations, especially in the base-level configurations.
