About this deal

From here, the pen can be posted without the middle section, making it 13.5cm (5.25 inches). Just slightly longer than the pen with the middle section, unposted. This was my favorite setup – the pen weighs 39 g, so most of the weight remains, but the length is great for my hand. I personally think the Fireblue looks better in person. I know that doesn’t help. 😀 Maybe wait till you could see one in person?

What the Sport should have been: the Kaweco Supra Fireblue

I was tempted to buy a pen and give it to a friend of mine who has a big workshop with quite a few blowtorches. But I guess it could be risky. Whilst I'm most definitely not saying that zscript is anything other than great, I feel that many people who don't have enough of a programmers head on their shoulders will find zscript too techy to be their goto modding tool. Take Nash's "minimal coding" example here: Fireblu2 is the most balanced frame, with red and blue having the same weight (creating that beautiful contrasting piece we all love). Fireblu1 is more pushed to red, losing a bit of its eccentricity. I would say that Fireblu2 represents better the whole texture, so I agree it's the better frame. However Fireblu1 have an important role to the glowing aspect of the animation, thanks to the use of darker and brighter tones in contrast to the pale aspect of Fireblu2. So both have it's own value. Unlike the other pens in the Liliput range, the Liliput Fireblue pen's barrel and cap are made of blued stainless steel. This process of blueing is done by hand and through the action of different temperatures, the individual pen receives a varied colouring of shimmering bluish and brownish colour nuances. Resulting in an entirely unique pen that can be further changed over time through use. Making for a pen that is entirely unique. The blued steel barrel and cap is further complimented through the use of a gold Kaweco logo and detailing on the top of the pens screw-on cap. The Kaweco Liliput takes compact design to the next level. The sleek barrel accentuates the modern simplicity of this pen, which features a robust all metal construction and superior attention to detail condensed into a small-scale portable writing instrument. Despite its diminutive size the Liliput is a giant among pens. Key FeaturesAs for the writing experience, the nib works well, being smooth and consistent while in use. As the nib is interchangeable I might experiment with a finer or broader nib, but the medium size works well. I don’t want to slight the Stainless Steel Liliput. The Stainless Steel is quieter, but what I liked about the Stainless Steel Liliput was how sleek and minimal the pen looked. The simplicity of the material brings the shape and form of the Liliput to the fore. Personally I think fireblu only looks acceptable when used in small amounts. It looks just plain ugly when it is pasted on a wall.

This allows more flexibility in size. So far I’ve shown the Supra closed, open and posted, open and unposted. The fourth size is closed with only one body section. The Supra nib unit is a bigger version of the convenient screw-in/screw-out nib unit found on all Kaweco pens above the basic range. My Supra had a fine nib, which was extremely smooth with good ink flow. The combination of large nib and weighty pen made the Supra a really fun writer. My first fountain pen, and I'm not disappointed in the slightest! This offering from Kaweco caught my eye due to the unique finish, and the one I got is just as catching. The varied blues of the body go well with the copper clip, offering a nice contrast. I’m not sure about the Liliput and a converter. It’s not recommended, but it’s possible one could try the Kaweco silicone squeeze converter. This wasn’t my pen, so I didn’t. 🙂 I'm wondering if there is anything that would react with the actual oxide layer that makes the metal look blue (among other colors obviously). If all of that is inert and doesn't matter, then there's surely a way to get this pen and then coat it to preserve the colors.

Finally, the pen can be used without the middle section, unposted. This gives a pen that is just 9.5 cm (3.75 inches) long and weighs 31 g (1.1 ounces). This was by far my least favorite setup. I haven’t used shimmering ink in this yet, and wouldn’t recommend it on the extra fine nib because the low ink flow is a recipe for clogs.
