About this deal

The Cisco 10GBASE-LRM Module supports link lengths of 220m on standard Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI) grade Multimode Fiber (MMF). To make sure that specifications are met over FDDI-grade, OM1 and OM2 fibers, the transmitter should be coupled through a mode conditioning patch cord. No mode conditioning patch cord is required for applications over OM3 or OM4. For additional information on mode conditioning patch cord requirements please see: https://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/modules/ps5455/product_bulletin_c25-530836.html. Using fiber SFP+ modules requires fiber cables for connection. However, the current access infrastructure is dominated by copper cabling. Deploying SFP+ fiber modules is costly in terms of upgrading the network base from copper to fiber. Though using fiber modules in copper cabling is possible, additional copper to fiber equipment such as media converters is required. The 10GBASE-T SFP+ module supports 10G-T transmission over the existing copper cabling infrastructure.

For S-Class SFP+ 10 Gigabit Modules, refer to the link below: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/interfaces-modules/transceiver-modules/datasheet-listing.html.The 1000BASE-BX-D and 1000BASE-BX-U SFPs, compatible with the IEEE 802.3ah 1000BASE-BX10-D and 1000BASE-BX10-U standards, operate on a single strand of standard SMF. An SFP - Small Form-factor Pluggable Transceiver - is just a little device that converts a standard set of signals to another standard set of signals. They often convert to fibre Ethernet connections, but can equally provide copper Ethernet or even direct SFP-SFP connections. Flexibility of media and interface choice on a port-by-port basis, so you can “pay as you populate” The Cisco 10GBASE-ER module supports a link length of up to 40 kilometers on SMF (G.652). SFP-10G-ER-S does not support FCoE. The term " Ethernet cable" is somewhat of a misnomer. You will likely actually be referring to a CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6 or maybe CAT7 cable that is terminated with an RJ-45 on either end. If terminated correctly, these can be used to connect two Ethernet devices that have a common set of supported protocols.

The Cisco 10GBASE-SR Module supports a link length of 26m on standard Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI)-grade Multimode Fiber (MMF). Using 2000MHz *km MMF (OM3), up to 300m link lengths are possible. Using 4700MHz *km MMF (OM4), up to 400m link lengths are possible. The Cisco GLC-BX40-D-I, GLC-BX40-DA-I, and GLC-BX40-U-I SFPs operate on a single strand of standard SMF.The SFP-10G-ZR-I has a cold start at -40 ⁰ C, the transceiver will be operational except optical traffic is not supported from -40 ⁰ C to -28 ⁰ C, all other low speed features (DOM, I2C, etc.) are operational. The module is fully operational -28 ⁰ C to 85 ⁰ C. The Cisco 10GBASE-LR module supports a link length of 10 kilometers on standard Single-Mode Fiber (SMF) (G.652). SFP-10G-LR-S does not support FCoE. However, they do exist as "Direct Attach Cables". In this form, the modules are attached to either end of the cable, and are not designed to be removed.

The Cisco 10GBASE-LR Module supports a link length of 10 kilometers on standard Single-Mode Fiber (SMF,G.652). A more cost-effective solution than replacing 10G SFP+ switches with 10GBASE-T RJ45 switches; A stabler solution than 10G SFP+ to RJ45 media converters. Remember, when discussing the complex and fast signals involved in such technologies, the whole signal path is very important to achieve a functional communication link. This includes everything in the signal's path:Hot-swappable input/output device that plugs into an Ethernet SFP+ port of a Cisco switch (no need to power down if installing or replacing) The SFP spec outlines the signals as well as the termination - in this case directly between the module and the host device. Ethernet (like DOCSIS) outlines the signals and cable requirements, but it also outlines options for the connectors used.
