Maybe I was building up their relationship and feelings for one another in the past as more than they actually were but I can’t believe they let things fester for so long. the never ending discussions and dialogues during smut scenes were irritating like, stfu and do your thing. why do you have to argue even with sex? What does this mean? It means Sloane and Lucian are gonna see each other more than they bargained for. If only they could control the way they ACTUALLY want each other 👀 If you didn’t love Sloane and Lucian already in the previous books, you will most definitely fall in love with them now!!
The found family-My favorite part of this series! Everyone is there, although I wanted more Waylay bc my girl is just the best, but we got more of Stef and Jeremiah which made my heart so happy bc I love them so much. And we got some new characters but most importantly we got all the CLOSURE with everyone's story that really wrapped up this series so perfectly. I'm actually kind of sad bc this is it for these characters and I am going to miss them and this sweet little town so much! My review is going to be biased because I’ve loved this entire series since I first started it over a year and a half ago. The writing was terrible, the dialogue was pure cringe, the smut made me want to hot-glue my eyelids shut, CHAPTER NAMES.... Admittedly it was drawn out, less in some cases is best, it was a bit messy in others, but it still didn't take away my love for this book/this series. I laughed. I cried. I giggled. I swooned. I sideeyed. I facepalmed. I frowned. I rolled my eyes. I smiled. And I melted.Things We Left Behind” by Lucy Score is a captivating enemies-to-lovers romance novel that takes readers on a rollercoaster ride of passion, secrets, and redemption. With well-developed characters and an engaging plot, this book will keep you hooked from beginning to end. About the author Suffice it to say that this is easily the best Lucy Score book I’ve read. In my review of Things We Hide From The Light I complained at length about why I hadn’t found a truly 5 star read by LS. Of course the next one of her books I read turns out to be just what I was looking for. I’m just so happy and emotional and in love with this love story. I no longer give a damn about Knox or Nash. Give me Lucian Rollins or no one at all.
The characters in “Things We Left Behind” are multidimensional and relatable. Lucian’s internal struggle between protecting Sloane and his fear of becoming like his father adds layers to his persona. Sloane’s determination to seek justice and her unwavering strength make her a commendable heroine. Supporting characters also shine, adding depth and complexity to the story. As you can see, that same brotherly banter and gentle ribbing are there, but that’s only part of what I adore about these books. Seeing Lucian’s reaction and how he tries to ignore it when Sloane is brought up, I’m swooning. There is something so comforting and fun about this series so I honestly can’t wait for September. I adored this series, I adored getting to know and love these characters, making room in my heart for each of them. And I hope beyond anything that this author gives us another series to sink our teeth into.Lucian Rollins is a lean, mean, vengeance-seeking mogul. On a quest to erase his father’s mark on the family name, he spends every waking minute pulling strings and building an indestructible empire. The more money and power he amasses, the safer he is from threats. This was a great conclusion to a fabulous series. It brought to light the love of friendship and how found families are more than just blood. This book was a satisfying ending to all three couples and had two amazing epilogues. This book was most definitely a rollercoaster of emotions!! No doubt about that!! Literally had me crying one second and screaming (without the s) the next!! Then a moment later, I’m giggling my ass off. Istg this book has ruined me in the best way possible!! Sloane Walton: A fiery and determined small-town librarian, Sloane is on a quest for justice and carries the weight of a dark secret. Her strong-willed personality and deep-seated dislike for Lucian create a dynamic and tension-filled relationship. Storyline i refuse to believe the men in series are 40+ when they behave like 15 year olds!! like seriously, their behaviour throughout this series was so embarrassing - like in this book they fist fight each other outside a bar?? as carrie bradshaw once said: “STOP IT, YOU’RE MIDDLE AGED”Broken men break women. It’s what Lucian believes, what he’s witnessed, and he’s not going to take that chance with Sloane. It was strange, having a secret with the boy I’d once loved and now sharing it with the man I couldn’t stand" THE EXTENDED EPILOGUE 😭. Lucy Score, please talk to many of those authors that don’t give us this 😭. Not only do we see Lucian and Sloane’s HEA ten years later, but we see all the other couples and even Lucian and Sloane’s moms having their HEA 🥹🫶. It was the best ❤️

She’s so strong, independent, intelligent, badass, witty, caring, supportive and more!! I would’ve married her if Lucian didn’t tbh!! She just deserves nothing but the best!!!

Book Review Sloane Walton is a spitfire determined to carry on her father’s quest for justice. She’ll do that just as soon as she figures out exactly what the man she hates did to—or for—her family. Me: Not that you care, but the attorney has been retained! And she’s taking the case pro bono! She’s on her way to meet Mary Louise! Side characters saved the day in some scenes, Knox was my one of my favorite characters in this book and that fact is TRAGIC. Yes, even LinaNash (my favs and my babies) didn't clear, my life is sad and incomplete.
