Gaviscon Products brings fast, soothing and long lasting relief from the pain and discomfort of heartburn, acid indigestion and sour stomach. Gaviscon contains alginic acid and sodium bicarbonate and the combination of the alginic acid and bicarbonate will create a a foam barrier which floats on the stomach acid. This barrier helps reduce the number of reflux episodes and provides longer lasting action against heartburn than ordinary antacids. How does it work? Each chewable tablet contains 250mg sodium alginate, 106.5mg sodium hydrogen carbonate and 187.5mg calcium carbonate as the active ingredients. Contains aspartame (E951).
